The Falconer was not exactly what I thought it would be. I wasn't expecting the steampunk element it had. It was enjoyable if a little bland in some of the details. I found it hard to picture the alternate steampunk Edinburgh. More description would have helped. I found it hard to connect to the characters at first, but that may have just been my mood. I had just come off of reading the latest Green Rider book and somehow those always do a number on my emotions. I do think the characters could have been more fleshed out. I did like this and pretty much have to read the next book because of that cliffhanger of an ending.
