Tammie's Reading Reviews

My husband read several of the books in this series back in the 80s and really liked them so we listened to this one on audible. I was not that impressed with The Godwulf Manuscript, but he says they get better.

I found the narrator to be very flat. There was no expression in his voice whatsoever and it would have been very helpful if there had been, especially during all of the sarcastic comments the main character Spencer makes. I might have found it funnier.

Sometimes I thought Spencer was a jerk and sleeping with a married woman and then later her daughter did not make me like him any better. At least it was just alluded to and there were no details.

This was set during the hippie movement of the early 70s. It's one of my least favorite time periods in all of history. The hippies, the hair, the clothes, the music, even the movies are all so unappealing to me, so that was another thing it had going against it.

I probably won't continue on with this series.
